The Hotel d'Angleterre as it's called in Danish, is next to the Magasin du Nord, a shop in Kongens Nytorv Square. When you see all these French names, it doesn't seem like you are in Denmark. But once you walk around you realize that you are next to the old port of Nyhavn, the liveliest nightlife in Copenhagen, and picturesque with its colorful houses. The Hotel d'Angleterre is a classical institution of the city, and was founded more than 250 years ago. It has always been at this location, and was the site of several important events for the country. It is here that the new Danish constitution was introduced in 1849.
