Surviving the adventure of Uyuni

The breakfast in the morning sun was long and relaxed. It was the last day of the trip, a farewell, as the group would stay on the Chilean border, heading to San Pedro de Atacama. We were at the southernmost point of the Bolivian Altiplano, and the return to Uyuni began. I did not go for invisible tracks, but by a gravel road that was well defined. We went through an amazing desert: The Salvador Dali. The name is perfect, the scenery is like it came out of a dream of the artist himself. A couple of hours later there were huge masses of stone with incredible shapes: The Valley of Rocks. Getting to Uyuni took 5 hours.

Salvador Dali Desert

Excellent

This place lives up to its name since it seems like something straight out of one of the famous Catalan painter's works. You almost expect to see the sky dripping clocks! You can only admire it from a distance, via 4x4, and on a fairly remote road. But, it's not bad from there you can admire all the details of the sand dunes and rocks.

Pretty

Excellent

But not as pretty as the pictures show it, in my opinion!
