D. Fernando I Memorial

The Monument to Ferdinand I is outside the Citadel walls, in the gardens surrounding the city walls, opposite Porta da Vila. It's a full body sculpture of the 2nd Duke of Bragança (son of Afonso I), in bronze and on a pedestal with plaque. It was made in 1964 to mark the V centenary of his death.
