Cruise of the Mercy (Cruzeiro da Misericórdia)

Strolling through the old town we found this cross, in a square in front of the Church of Mercy. It was built in 1713 by the Master Mason Domingos Moreira, in Baroque style. It's on a square platform with a staggered base. The granite is entirely carved in both its base and the column, capital and cross. It's worth pausing to contemplate in detail its rich decoration.
