Many tourists
Dominating the bay of Saint Pierre, next to the guns of the Sainte-Marthe Battery and the Frank A. Perret Museum, there is a small market of handicrafts and souvenirs. There are a few stalls where you can buy postcards, sarongs, shirts, beach bags with the island's name embroidered on them, typical hand-made dolls in banana leaf fabric, shell pendants or bracelets, straw hats, and wooden boxes. It was really put there to make a few euros off the many tourists visiting Saint Pierre, and who are all taken to see the volcano museum where the buses stop.
