Since Barcena Mayor was declared a Historical Site, it has become one of the most visited towns in Cantabria but nevertheless has kept its unique architecture and its customs and traditions, as well as its traditional crafts. Strolling through the village, you will find several small craft shops where you can buy objects mostly made of wood: Madreñas, Cachavas, bowls, cutlery etc. You can also purchase ceramics or leather items and even farm implements.
