Count of Miranda Little Square

La plaza del Conde de Miranda está en la zona antigua de Madrid, en el llamado Madrid de los Austrias, entre la plaza Mayor y la plaza de la Villa, (metro Sol). Es una plaza pequeña y muy cerrada, donde se encuentra la puerta trasera de la Basílica Pontificia de San Miguel (la nunciatura apostólica), de hecho existe una placa de Cuerpo Diplomático y de Nunciatura, y un escudo pontificio en la fachada de la casa. También está en esta plaza el convento de las Jerónimas (siglo XVII). La zona es preciosa para visitarla a pie, recorriendo las pequeñas callejuelas, descubriendo rincones y lugares que forman parte de la historia más antigua de la capital de España.

The Plaza del Conde de Miranda is in the old part of Madrid, in the so-called Madrid de los Austrias, between the Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa, (metro Sol). It is a small and very closed square, where the back door of the Papal Basilica of San Miguel (the Apostolic Nunciature), in fact there is a plate and Nunciature diplomatic corps, and a papal shield in front of the house. Also in this square is the convent of the Jerónimas (seventeenth century). The area is beautiful to visit on foot, walking the narrow streets, discovering the spots that are part of the early history of the capital of Spain.
