Convent Church of Victoria

1 review of Convent Church of Victoria

Has two very revered images

Getting to this temple is a bit tricky. It lies at the end of the promenade, near the ocean but is surrounded by buildings and the streets going to the pier are under construction, so there's a short detour. In earlier times it has a square in front but now there's a trendy district of flats and the remaining space for large events is at the headquarters of the popular Virgin of Charity. The temple was a monastery founded in 1613 by the Order of St. Francis of Paula, the Mínimos de la Victoria. Convent facilities have been transformed into civilian buildings, leaving only the Baroque temple. The floor is a central nave in the form of a Latin cross with a dome, the tower was added in 1770.
