Barcelo Santa Cruz Contemporáneo hotel

Nous avons eu la chance de séjourner à l’hôtel Contemporaneo lors de notre voyage de 5 jours à Tenerife. Je dis chance, car il est toujours compliqué de dénicher ce genre d’hôtel sans avoir de recommandation d’ami ou de proche. J’ai testé pour vous, donc je partage ! Comme son nom l’indique, l’hôtel Contemporaneo est résolument moderne. Situé à Santa Cruz de Tenerife, il est destiné à une clientèle plutôt citadine, ou tout du moins venue pour autre chose que lézarder au soleil en bord de mer. Rien à voir avec les complexes géants du sud de l’île. Vous êtes ici en plein centre-ville, et c’est un excellent point de chute pour visiter Tenerife en évitant les hordes d’Anglais et d’Allemands qui remplissent les stations balnéaires moches, type Las Americas. Depuis l’hôtel, vous pouvez donc facilement rayonner en voiture, aller au Teide, traverser les monts de l’Anaga, ou longer la côte nord vers Icod et Masca. On vous indiquera dans le grand hall d’accueil comment trouver votre chemin entre la cafeteria-lounge, le restaurant où prendre le petit-déjeuner, et les chambres. L’ensemble est bien décoré, mais évidemment on aime ou on n’aime pas la modernité prononcée de l’ensemble. Les chambres sont confortables, avec une salle de bains séparée tout à fait fonctionnelle. A priori pas de lit double mais 2 lits simples collés, comme partout en Espagne. J’étais seul dans ma chambre, mais j’imagine qu’un séjour en amoureux doit être plus compliqué dans ces conditions… A noter pour un hôtel espagnol (ce n’est pas le premier que je teste !) l’isolation phonique est plutôt bonne. Il y a du wifi dans tout l’hôtel. Le débit n’est pas dingue mais ça marche bien. Comme souvent il est payant, mais j’ai souvenir que c’est abordable. Le petit déjeuner (inclus dans notre cas) est copieux et varié : Salé, sucré, fruits, fromage, charcuterie… Le service impeccable. Le gros point fort de l’hôtel Contemporaneo : La gentillesse de son personnel, toujours prêt à vous rendre service et à vous donner plein de conseils utiles, pour visiter Santa Cruz notamment. We had the chance to stay at the hotel Contemporaneo in our 5 day trip to Tenerife. I say lucky because it is always difficult to find a hotel like this without having a close friend or recommendation. I tested for you, so I share! As its name suggests, the hotel is modern Contemporaneo. Located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it is for a rather urban clientele, or at least come to anything other than soaking up the sun by the sea Nothing to do with the complex giants south of the island. You are here in the city center, and is a great base for exploring Tenerife avoiding the hordes of English and Germans meet the ugly resorts, dude Las Americas. From the hotel, so you can easily spread by car, go to Teide, through the mountains of Anaga, or along the north coast towards Icod and Masca. We will tell you in the spacious foyer how to find your way from the cafeteria-lounge, the restaurant for breakfast, and rooms. All is well decorated, but obviously we like it or do not like modernity pronounced all. The rooms are comfortable, with a separate bathroom fully functional. A priori not double but two singles pushed together, as everywhere in Spain. I was alone in my room, but I imagine a romantic getaway should be more difficult in these conditions ... Note for a Spanish hotel (this is not the first I tested!) Sound insulation is pretty good. There is wifi throughout the hotel. The flow is not crazy but it works well. How often it is limited, but I remember that it is affordable. The breakfast (included in our case) is rich and varied: Salty, sweet, fruit, cheese, cold meats ... The impeccable service. The strong point of the hotel Contemporaneo: The friendly staff, always ready to serve you and give you lots of useful tips for visiting Santa Cruz in particular.
