Concello Square

Como su nombre indica, en esta plaza se encuentra la [poi=83564]Casa do Concello o Ayuntamiento[/poi] de Verín, además del Palacio de Justicia (actual sede de la policía) y un aparcamiento subterráneo (un buen sitio para aparcar, ya que a partir de aquí comienza el centro histórico peatonal). Es una amplia plaza de planta cuadrada, delimitada por las calles Laureano Peláez, Dtor. Pedro Glez, Colón y Av. Portugal, en la que hay unas zonas ajardinadas muy cuidadas, bancos para sentarse y una gran fuente ornamental de hormigón en el suelo que parece trazar el camino hacia la puerta principal del Consistorio. A diferencia de otras muchas ciudades o pueblos, la Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Verín no es el epicentro del casco histórico ni lugar de celebración de fiestas y mercados (el lugar que juega ese papel es la Plaza García Barbón), sino que representa el centro de la actividad administrativa, comercial y financiera de la villa.

As the name suggests, this square is the Casa do Concello or City of Verin, besides the Palace of Justice (now police headquarters) and underground parking (a good place to park, because from here begins the pedestrian) historic center. It is a large square square, bounded by the streets Laureano Pelaez, Dtor. Pedro Glez, Colon and Av. Portugal, where there are manicured gardens, benches and a large ornamental fountain concrete floor looking pave the way toward the front door of the Consistory.
