Compromisso Marítimo de Olhão

O Compromisso Marítimo de Olhão é um edifício nobre, localizado no centro de Olhão, com acesso principal pela Praça da Restauração. Foi construído na segunda metade do século XVIII e tinha como principal função apoiar a comunidade piscatória. No piso inferior existia uma farmácia e um talho e o piso superior era mais "nobre"; era aqui que estava a Sala dos Despachos, uma sala pequena com tecto em madeira onde está pintado o brasão das armas reais portuguesas (que pode ser visitado). Hoje funciona aqui o Museu Municipal de Olhão. Um local de visita obrigatória, para conhecer um pouco mais a fundo a origem da cidade e arredores e a sua história. A presença romana no concelho; as salinas; uma exposição sobre Olhão Cubista; exemplares da antiga farmácia, a Sala dos Despachos... no final, um video. Vale muito a pena! A entrada é gratuita e livre. Está encerrado ao domingo e segunda. De terça a sexta está aberto das 10h às 12:30h e das 14h às 17:30h. Ao sábado das 10h às 13h.

Commitment Olhão Maritime is a noble building located in the center of Olhão, with main access for the Restoration Square. It was built in the second half of the eighteenth century and its main function to support the fishing community. Downstairs there was a pharmacy and a butcher and the upper floor was more "noble"; it was here that was the Hall of Dispatches, a small room with wooden ceiling which is painted the coat of the Portuguese royal arms (which can be visited). Today works here the Municipal Museum of Olhão. A must-visit site to learn more deeply the origin of the city and its surroundings and its history. It is closed on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday to Friday is open from 10 am to 12: 30h and 14h to 17: 30h. Saturday from 10h to 13h.
