The unfinished church
After parking we went through a lush forest and in a few meters began to see the truncated tower of this curious church founded in medieval times. Built in the twelfth century Seton church is one of the copies of collegiate church (the original name is The College Kirk of St. Mary and the Holy Cross) most representative in Scotland. The term is applied to all collegiate churches that incorporated a community college or priests living communally (as distinct monastic orders and canonical, in the case of churches, were secular). In the fifteenth century it was enlarged by the noble Seton family for their own family burial place.
