Collegiate Church of Notre - Dame of the Ronchaye

In a list of charming villages of Brittany you will find Rochefort for sure. It is a pleasure to walk through its streets which are full of history and flowers. The Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Tronchaye is one of the few monuments that you can enter, it's worth learning a bit about the legend. When the Normas invaded a priest hid in statue of the Virgin with child, and they were looting everything they could find, but two centuries later no one had found the statue of the Virgin. It was a shepherd who when he found the trunk realised that there was something inside, so the locals decided to make a collegiate church of the Virgin of the trunk (Tronchaye) in what is now the town centre.
