1 review of Lake Coleridge

Worth a visit

Excellent

This lake is surrounded by the New Zealand Alps, a few steps from Christchurch, the biggest settlement of the South Island. This little-known and little-visited lake is only accessible by a dirt road that reaches Windwhistle, then rejoins the main road linking Christchurch to the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand through Arthur's Pass. You can camp and swim, but the water temperature is quite cold throughout the year; most tourists who come here go fishing. Wait for the sunset over the water, then you can admire the starry sky - an unforgettable experience.
