The tower is 64 meters high, the clock was brought here after the building of the tower, from Switzerland, wooden figurines inside the clock symbolize the days of the week. The weather vane on the tower consists of small sphere in gold and in the above there is a rooster that predicts the weather. Precious!

It is called Turnul Cu Ceas in Romanian. It is at the main entrance of the citadel, when you get to the bottom of Sighisoara. The place you can visit, is not free, and is open daily except Monday from 9 to 16 hours. Symbol of institutions which for a time housed, the tower is the only one that does not belong to a corporation of craftsmen. In the seventeenth century, a local craftsman installed there a clock, with a facade giving time to the lower part of the city, and the other face side of the Germanic citadel (burg in German). The mechanism activates two groups of small characters painted wood. Measuring about 80 centimeters high, and leave every hour. In the part of the lower town, every night, the sixth bell midnight, a small character representing a day of the week replaces the other. On the side of the citadel, are allegories of Justice, Law, Peace, with a drum beating the hours. An angel of the day leaves at 6 and enters at 4 pm when the night comes, wearing a tan. The city council did in the tower. Now part of the UNESCO world heritage.
