Climb to the Castle of Polop

Only some of the castles ruins are still standing nor much is left of the old Municipal Cemetery which is also located here. The ascent to castle Polop, the Via Crucis, the name of the hill that takes you right to the top is the best thing to do in the village. From here the views are amazing and go on for miles. On days as nice as this one you can see the town perfectly. The beauty of the environment dominated by Mount Ponoig (1,180.) or "the sleeping lion, mixes in with the agricultural landscapes. As the climb is huge rock surrounding the footing, the views are constantly changing as you move up.
