94 reviews of Cliffs of Moher

Prohibited Place

When you reach the southern viewpoint at the Cliffs of Moher you'll find a sign warning for going too close to the edge of the cliffs because there are no protective fences. It's not that I want you to ignore that law because it's a way to keep you safe from falling into the sea. If you approach the edge there is no danger, except if you go there with kids, it could be a little dicey for them. No one or almost no one gets too close to the edge.

Joy of landscapes assured

Excellent

The walk "allowed" offers beautiful views of the cliffs but with the inability to get close to the edges you lose a little of the sensation of vertigo. The monilith is a reminder of those who have died and the sign warns us of the danger ahead, that it´s privately owned and that you are not allowed to pass. When, as in my case, you can really enjoy the visit. There is a narrow dirt road that looks down the 214 meter drop as much as you want, the will of each person to get as close to the edge is the only rule. You will find all kinds of people there, by which I mean it's not a physically demanding journey.
