Classic Racer Lagos de Covadonga - Asturias

In 2010, 3200 cyclists gathered at one of the tourist capitals of the Principality and gateway to the Picos de Europa, Cangas de Onis. A former professional cyclist, the German Reimud Dietzen with four of his former teammates, went ahead of this army of cyclists, parading through towns like Arriondas, Ribadesella, Porrúa, Corao, Covadonga. Beginning at the foot of his ascension to Basilica de Covadonga Lakes with a blazing sun made the climb harder but the magnificent scenery and the stands filled with followers and companions made it easier. As ever, we enjoyed a day of authentic cycling and a weekend of sports tourism in the Principality of Asturias.
