City and Beach of Progreso

This is the port city of Merida, and is also the coastal weekend village for people from the capital. This does not apply to our concept of metropolitan areas, towns here are small. Swimming on the beach did not seem to be highly recommended, the water had a dirty color, we do not know if it is the proximity of the port or because this day was pretty hectic. It was therefore more palatable to binge on fresh seafood at one of the waterfront restaurants.
