An interesting history
This palace has a very interesting history. In fact, it was built in opposition to the city's "official" palace: at the time, Cremona was divided into two communities, each with its own government. The Palazzao di Cittanova, or Palazzo del Popolo, built outside the walls in 1256, was a counterpoint to the Palazzo del Comune.
