Exploring the Tacande Volcano
This path borders the Tacande Volcano, also known as the Montaña Quemada. Going up the road that gives way to the El Pilar Refuge, we turn towards the sandy areas and leave the car there. We go walking on the path, turning right and soon we will reach the side of the volcano.
At first sight you don’t realize you are in front of a volcano, it looks like a black sand hill and pine trees. We border its base until we slowly see its authentic profile. The lava dome appears and we start going up.
The path surrounds the volcano, so we will exit from the pine tree area back to our starting point.
