Basta bajar del ferry en Miyajima para empezar a ver ciervos de acá para allá. Disfrutan de la isla a suc anchas sin preocuparse mucho de los visitantes. Los que están en la zona de los santuarios más bien aprovechan que hay turistas para comer de todo lo que les den con total confianza. En el Monte Misen también se les puede encontrar, pero son bastante más esquivos.
