built on a fourteenth century chapel
Chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena was built on a fourteenth century chapel. It was commissioned in the year 1586 with the hospital's deputy Brotherhood of the governers, S. Camillo De Lellis, as a forum of Ministers of the Sick People, which in 1621 decided to expand the square which was located opposite, and begin to build a new building, built by Giovanni Francesco Grimaldi from 1631-1634, by Carlo Fontana.
