The Church of St. John the Evangelist in Blackpool in the historic city center is one of the oldest churches of the city. It's a great representation of the English west coast. The church that we appreciate today was completed in 1878 (construction began in 1821), however historical records reveal that a church was always standing at this exact site. Supposedly it survived the Reformation begun by Henry VIII and was transformed/ converted into an Anglican church, which is still currently in full operation. It's in an area where it's the only old building still standing, making it stand out so much to travelers.
