San Giovanni Evangelista

The Church of St. John in Syracuse is one of the jewels still standing after suffering a lot of damage over the centuries. Today only the outer walls remain. You can find examples of several different styles, as the church has undergone a number of changes and renovations over the centuries. It was used for burial, and you can take an interesting guided tour of the catacombs under the church.
