Choco

Despues de deliberar por largas semanas con mi novia llegamos a la conclusion de que nuestro viaje seria a la Guajira o al Choco, dos de los destinos mas desconocidos en Colombia. Luego de mirar las ventajas y las desventajas de cada uno de los destinos nos decidimos por el Choco. Lo primero que hicimos fue averiguar la conectividad mas económica hacia Bahía Solano. De San Andres viajamos a Bogota y de ahí a Medellin en bus por $40.000 donde compramos los tiquetes en Aeromedellin LalianXa hacia Bahía Solano por $340.000 pesos cada uno. (~100 euros.) Al otro día salimos para Bahía Solano en ADA, arribamos sin saber donde nos quedariamos y un poco asustados por la cantidad de presencia militar que había (luego supimos que hay una base militar ahí y que había un general en la zona) El primer día nos quedamos en el Apartahotel La Frontera el cual no es nada del otro mundo y negociamos un buen precio con un cuarto con aire acondicionado. En Bahía Solano no hay nada.... Absolutamente nada. De Bahía Solano nos fuimos para Playa Huina donde nos quedamos en las cabañas de Mr Jerry, un Holandés que vive hace 40 años en Colombia, esta fue la mejor cabaña en la que estuvimos en todo el viaje y por ser temporada baja conseguimos un super precio por persona aquí estuvimos 3 días e hicimos varias caminatas, snorkeling, pesca y avistamiento de ballenas Mr Jerry es un poco seco, pero es un gran anfitrión. De Huina salimos para El Valle desde Bahía Solano portal vez la peor carretera conocina por el ser humano, fue casi 1 hora de tortura, y llegamos vivos!En el Valle nos quedamos en el hotel de Janeth - El Valle - por un precio relativamente bueno, aunque las instalaciones estaban sucias y no el sucio normal que uno se esperaría, mas bien descuido. En el Valle no hay mucho que hacer, fuera de visitar la playa del Almejal, el cual debo admitir es espectacular. De el valle se va a la Ensenada de Utria lo cual admito tiene los mejores paisajes que he visto en mi vida y donde en cierta temporada las ballenas van a tener sus ballenatos, ahí fuimos atendidos por Salomón quien es un excelente anfitrión y cuando nos estábamos devolviendo vimos un grupo de ballenas y presenciamos un salto de una de ellas. En el siguiente día fuimos a las cascadas al norte de El Valle, aquí es recomendable llevar botas pantaneras ya que una de las cascadas esta medida en plena selva. Yo no recomendaria ir al valle mas de 2 días ya que de verdad es un pueblo donde para un turista de mi perfil no hay mucho para hacer. Del Valle viajamos a Nuqui solo por una noche, si quieren dejar el pescado a un lado y comer comida rápida les recomiendo Pa"chupa, al siguiente día tomamos una lancha con el senor Salas hasta Arusi, en Arusi no hay nada así que ahí solo estuvimos 3 horas de Arusi contratamos una lancha $20.000 que nos llevara hasta Termales ya que la marea estaba muy alta para caminar hasta alla. En Termales nos quedamos en la cabana de "la Profe" esta es otra de las cabanas donde nos sentimos muy bien servidos, pero notamos que hay colonos que han cambiado la mentalidad de las personas que viven ahí, aquí nos quedamos solo 1 día y aunque tienen un potencial enorme para volverse el pueblo mas famoso de la zona, los termales están mal explotados en mi opinión. Después de termales seguimos para Coqui a pie nuestro guia a quien le dicen Candelo y aparentemente es muy popular en la zona ya que por todo lado por donde pasamos todo el mundo lo saludaba, Candelo nos llevo y cargo las maletas hasta Coqui, nos tomo alrededor de 4 horas y me hubiera tomado 10 si yo hubiese estado cargando la maleta. En coqui nos quedamos en la única cabana que hay, aquí la cama es de paja la luz es de cera y el servicio de agua es "deficiente" como ellos definen inexistente, aquí sorpresivamente es donde mas organizados están en materia de ecoturismo, tienen un portafolio muy bueno de servicios y están organizados como cooperativa un ejemplo a seguir para toda la región. De ahí esperamos una lancha que nos llevara a Nuqui, pero como no sabiamos a que horas pasaría decidimos salir a las 6 de la manana a hacerle senas al primero que pasara y afortunadamente paso la lancha del senor Salas y nos llevo por 20.000 C/U En Nuqui es obligatorio ir a Playa Olímpica e ir a tomar Pipa (coco) si preguntan los llevan por 10.000 pesos. En la noche salimos a rumbiar a pa"chupa recuerden que alla quitan la luz a las 11 pm así que si van a salir siempre tienen que salir con linternas de ahí salimos para Medellin y fue el final de nuestros 2 semanas de aventuras y aunque no volvería por motivos ajenos al destino si les recomiendo a todos los que estén buscando viajar a un lugar donde no se ve el turista depredador y los todo incluidos que visiten el Choco ya que su gente hace esta tierra especial y me da felicidad saber que fuimos relativamente pioneros en visitar este destino. Fuera de las vacunas aquí hay una lsita de cosas para llevar, las cuales posiblemente salvaron mi vida. After deliberating for many weeks with my girlfriend arrived at the conclusion that our trip would be to the Guajira or Choco, two of the more unknown destinations in Colombia. After looking at the advantages and disadvantages of each of the destinations we decided on the Choco. The first thing we did was figure out the most economical connectivity to Bahia Solano. San Andres traveled to Bogota and from there by bus to Medellin $ 40,000 where we bought the tickets in Aeromedellin Lalianxa to Bahia Solano for $ 340,000 pesos each. (~ 100 euros.) The next day we went to Bahia Solano in ADA, arrived not knowing where we would run and a little scared by the amount of military presence there (we later learned that there is a military base there and that was a general in the area) The first day we were in the Aparthotel La Frontera which is no big deal and negotiate a good price with an air conditioner. In Bahia Solano nothing .... Absolutely nothing. De Bahia Solano Beach we went to Huina where we stayed in the cabins of Mr Jerry, a Dutchman who lives in Colombia 40 years ago, this was the best cabin we stayed in the whole trip off-peak and got a super price per person we were here three days and made several hiking, snorkeling, fishing and whale watching Mr Jerry is a little dry, but it is a great host. From Huina left for El Valle from Bahia Solano website conocina worst road time by humans, was almost 1 hours of torture, and we live! In the Valley we stay at the hotel Janeth - The Valley - for a relatively good price , although the facilities were dirty and not the normal dirty one would expect, but rather neglect. In the Valley there is not much to do outside Almejal visit the beach, which I must admit is spectacular. From the valley will Utria Cove which admittedly has the best scenery I've seen in my life and where some whales season will have their calves, that were served by Solomon who is an excellent host and when we were returning we saw a pod of whales and witnessed a jump of one of them. The next day we went to the waterfalls north of El Valle, here is advisable to wear rubber boots because one of the falls this far in the jungle. I would not recommend going to the Valley over two days and it really is a town where for a tourist in my profile there is not much to do. Del Valle traveled to Nuqui only for one night, if you want to leave the fish aside and eat fast food I recommend Pa "sucks, the next day we took a boat with Mr. Salas to Arusi in Arusi nothing so there only were 3 hours Arusi hired a boat $ 20,000 to take us to springs because the tide was too high to walk up there. in Thermal stayed in the cabin of "Profe" this is another of the cabins where we felt very well served , but noticed that there are settlers who have changed the mentality of the people living there, here we were only 1 day and although they have a huge potential to become the most famous people in the area, the springs are poorly developed in my opinion. After of thermal Coqui continue to walk our guide who would say Candelo and apparently is very popular in the area and that everywhere we passed greeted everyone, Candelo and took us over to Coqui suitcases, we took about 4 hours and I would have taken 10 if I had been carrying the suitcase. coqui stayed in the only hut there, here is the straw bed is light wax and water service is "poor" as they define nonexistent , here is where most organized surprisingly are on ecotourism, have a very good portfolio of services and are organized as cooperative a role model for the entire region. Hence we expect a boat that will take us to Nuqui, but as we did not know to that hours would decided to leave at 6 am to make senas the first step to happen and fortunately the boat of Mr. Chambers and took us for 20,000 C / U In Nuqui is mandatory to go to Olympic beach and go take Pipa (coconut) take them if they ask for 10,000 pesos.
