Chine Pool

O Mana Pools National Park possui diversas "pools" ou "waterholes". Algumas delas secam na estação seca (de junho à outubro), outras como a "Long Pool" ou a "Chine Pool" resistem ao longo período sem chuvas e acumulam água mesmo durante o inverno. Devido à isto muitos animais se reúnem ali para beber água. Além disto, estas "piscinas" servem de abrigo para os hipopótamos que não tem o território no rio Zambeze. A Chine Pool fica no norte do Parque Mana Pools, entre a "Long Pool" e o "Lungfish Pan". Ali avistamos um casal de hipopótamos, alguns antilopes d'água e muitos impalas. Infelizmente o dia estava nublado então tudo tinha um aspecto um pouco triste. Mas repassamos pelo local no final da tarde e a paisagem era mais bonita, mas não vimos nenhum animal nesse momento.

The Mana Pools National Park has several "pools" or "waterholes". Some of them dry in the dry season (June to October), others such as "Long Pool" or "Chine Pool" resist long period without rain and accumulate water even during winter. Because of this many gather there animals to drink water. In addition, these "pools" serve as shelter for the hippos do not have the territory on the Zambezi River. The Chine Pool is in northern Mana Pools Park, between the "Long Pool" and "Lungfish Pan". There we saw a couple of hippos, antelopes some water and many impalas. Unfortunately the day was overcast so all had a look a little sad. But we pass the site in the late afternoon and the scenery was prettier, but we saw no animals at this time.
