Chiesa di Aya Paraskevi

Proseguendo lungo la strada principale della frazione di Anisaraki, vicino Kandanos, si arriva a questa chiesetta, posta su un crinale. Come tutte queste chiesette, anche questa ha le mura esterne bianche, mentre all'interno si conservano interessanti affreschi del XV secolo. In questa in particolare è presente anche un'iconostasi di legno. Gli affreschi, invece, a differenza di altri, raffigurano numerosi animali, tra i quali un enorme drago, ancora ben visibile. Ci sono poi polipi, uccelli marini e cavalli. Alcune figure sospingono una barca a vela in quello che sembra un mare tempestoso e invaso di animali esotici. Completano il quadro, numerosi affreschi con santi, apostoli e la Sacra Famiglia.

Continuing along the main street of the village of Anisaraki, near Kandanos, you come to this church, located on a ridge. As all these churches, this one has white exterior walls, while inside there are interesting frescoes of the fifteenth century. In this in particular is also present iconostasis of wood. The frescoes, however, unlike others, depict many animals, including a huge dragon, still clearly visible. Then there are octopuses, sea birds and horses. Some figures propel a sailboat in what looks like a stormy sea and invaded by exotic animals. To complete the picture, with numerous frescos saints, apostles, and the Holy Family.
