Tour of Ludwig II Palace, part 2
In my previous entry I talked about the [poi = 593 521] Linderhof Palace [/ poi]. Well this one, which also belongs to King Ludwig II is situated southeast of Munich, close to the Austrian border. Map It is an exact copy of the Parisian Palace at Versailles. Scale 1:1.
With its vast gardens and completely furnished rooms. The peculiar thing about this palace is its location. It is situated on the small island in the Chiemsee. In order to get there, you have to take a boat, which makes your visit all the more enjoyable, in my opinion. The price of a round-trip in the boat (in the year 2011) is 7.50 € and takes about 20mins there and back. Once there, they give you a map of the island so you know how to get to the Palace. The following tours are guided. Much better. They explain the work life and miracles of Ludwig II and its peculiarities.
