Chatel is a small French ski resort, in the Haute Savoie department, shared with Avoriaz, Morzine and another dozen seasons the ski domain of the Portes du Soleil. The beauty of visiting Chatel is that it's a small and familiar village, but the ski pass allows you to go to Avoriaz and other better equipped and higher slopes with artificial snow ,if needed, without having to pay for an expensive apartment there. Yes, the pass costs isn't cheap, 100 euros for three days, which are not enough to ski on all the slopes that are in villages. At night, there are many bars in ski season, and at midday it's normal to have lunch on the slopes, there are also restuarants but they're more expensive.
