Charroux
Legend has it that Charlemagne bought a relic of the True Cross of Christ from a pilgrim and left it in the charming village of Charroux. Since then, history has given this place a long cultural tradition, particularly in its churches and abbeys. It was great to see the Romanesque sculptures and the Tower of "Carlomangno", definitely worth a visit. The Abbey of La Reau is one of the most visited temples due to the austerity and magnificence of its architecture. When visiting Charroux you feel like you have gone back in time several centuries.
