Chapel of Our Lady of Victories

The Chapel of Our Lady of Victories is unique, born out of the love and devotion of José do Canto by a vow made during his wife's serious illness. He chose a site near the lake in the Furnas crater, which has a special energy. Its Neogothic architecture mimics some European cathedrals, and it has vivid stained glass windows. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the windows from inside because it was closed. It was opened in 1886. The windows evoke the life of the Virgin from Birth to the Assumption. Inside the chapel, Mr. José de Canto and his wife are buried.
