Chapel Nossa Senhora Das Vitórias

The Chapel Nossa Senhora Das Vitórias is located in the unique environment of Lagoa das Furnas. It was a project of the versatile Jose Do Canto whose completion was estimated in 1882. It's Gothic style is situated right in front of one of the most beautiful lakes on the island of Sao Miguel. Behind, there is a beautiful forest where you can walk and enjoy the tranquility. The church is currently closed and apparently abandoned, but inside, the bodies of D. Joseph and his wife remain, which is for whom the chapel was built. Standing out the most is the Gothic style tower with its reddish brick and glass windows throughout.
