Chapel and Viewpoint of la Atalaia

Continuando con nuestra caminata por Ribadeo y una vez que dejamos atrás la [poi=390071] Capilla de San Roque[/poi], nos dirigimos a esta antigua Capilla del siglo XIV que se encuentra en un promontorio sobre Porcillán y la Ría de Ribadeo. Durante siglos ayudó a los barcos a enfilar el rumbo, siendo también un bastión en la defensa de la villa y el puerto. Las troneras, los cañones y el baluarte dan fe de su posición estratégica. Esta Capilla se llamaba antiguamente de la Santísima Trinidad, como estaba cerrada no pudimos ver los tres retablos que guarda en su interior, uno de ellos procedía de la Colegiata de Santa María. Al Mirador se sube por un moderno ascensor que permite la vista mientras se va ascendiendo y también es usado por la gente del lugar para bajar al paseo y subir sin necesidad de recurrir caminos tan empinados.
