The antidote to the San Miguel market
Right in front of the San Miguel market – that full-on, high-priced temple to Spanish produce – is Bar Cerveriz. Homespun and low-key, this bar de toda la vida is the antithesis of the market and – to my mind – a much better place to hang out. The tortilla is to die for and the rest of the nosh equally up to scratch. Carlos, who runs the place, keeps a fine cellar and won't charge an arm and a leg.
