Cernobbio (Lago Di Como)
Cernobbio can be found on the western shore of Lake Como, only 5 kilometers away from 19th century mansions immersed in beautiful gardens, as well as the super important Villa D'Este. It was built in 1568 by the will of the Cardinal of Como. It's had several owners, and in 1873 they decided to transform it into a luxury hotel. It's immersed in a centennial garden that's not to be missed. Cernobbio is also where the Church of San Vicenzo is, as well as a convent founded by the Cluniac, which remained active until 1700. There is great fishing in the area, and numerous 18th century mills, most of which are church property.
