Meknes central square is in front of Bab Mansour, the great gate of the Meknes walls. It is an open square with the start of the medina and souks in the back. The place is pretty quiet during the day. There are restaurants around which roast meats and squeeze oranges, but in the centre everything is pretty empty until 4pm.
