Ancient mountain range
The mountains Dikti (or Lassithiotica Ori) is a mountain range that extends east of the island of Crete in the prefecture of Lassithi, and on the west by the prefecture of Heraklion. According to Greek mythology, Zeus was born here and taken to Mount Ida, also in Crete, hidden in the cave called Dicteo Andro, where he grew up. In the north of the main massif located Lassith Plateau. The topology is rich with numerous plateaus (Lassithi, Katharo, Omalos Viannou, Limnakaro), secondary peaks and valleys. Some important peaks are: Spathi 2148m, Christos Afentis / Madara Psari 2.141m, 2.085m Lazaros, Katharo Tsivi 1.665m, 1.571m Afentis, Selena 1559m and 1.489m Korfi Platia.
