Cova d'en Xoroi

After visiting various coves and picturesque places in Menorca, we arrived at this cave carved into a spectacular cliff. From there, you have the best views of the ocean, sunset, moon, and stars.

Since the cave is currently a mix of nightclub, lounge, and viewpoint, there is something for everyone depending on what time of day you go.

If you want to relax and see the sunset, go in the afternoon. If you want a lively party scene, house music, and a little bit of craziness on this quiet island, go at night.

I recommend it to everyone visiting Menorca!

Legend tells that Xoroi was shipwrecked in this spectacular cliff. He stole from the peasants nearby and he fell in love with a girl that was about to get married, and he kidnapped her. He had three children with her.

But one winter day, the farmers followed the footprints that Xoroi left in the snow and discovered his hiding place. Not being able to escape, Xoroi and his son jumped to the sea, the sea that had once brought him to this coast in Menorca.

From the day I discovered it I thought it was an attractive place, full of charm and mystery. It is a real pleasure getting there and discovering the corners, terraces and to be able to admire this marvelous and indescribable landscape, the sea’s horizon, beyond everything.

It seemed as if its “history” was going to repeat itself.

This discotheque opens early. It is the perfect time to go with children and enjoy the magnificent views of the cliffs: the caves (it is literally hanging over the sea).

It has small terraces with umbrellas at different levels (those of you who have difficulty with the stairs must be careful) and the bar-dance floor is in the cave’s interior.

To go in, even in the evening, you must pay an entrance fee, which includes a soda. During the sunset they organize a chill-out party, that I guess must be real nice, but unfortunately this place was too far from Ciutadella, where I was staying,
