Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption

This Cathedral is located in a corner of Parque Céspede. It was modeled after many other cities planned by the Spanish, in the same central square was the seat of government (in this case the House Diego Velázquez) and the headquarters of the Church, the Cathedral of the city. In 1522, the Church of the former village Santiago de Cuba or Ermita de Santa Catalina was incorporated into a cathedral, and its headquarters was located in the town. They finished building it in the year 1526. It is considered to be a gem of architecture of Santiago de Cuba, it has remained with the same facade that it has today. And this is because throughout its 500 years of existence, it has been rebuilt on four separate occasions.
