Castle of Tabernas

Taverns Castle was built in the eleventh century during the time of Arab domination. It has a Moorish style and is situated on top of a hill on the outskirts of the municipality of Tabernas. It became the second fortress in the province of Almería and a very important focus of resistance in the internal struggles of the Moorish kingdom of Granada. From the castle you can see the areas where they filmed the great western movies in the area.
