A medieval castle
One of the things that particularly struck me about the archaeological site of Segesta was the diversity of ages of the buildings that are now all in ruins. In contrast with a magnificent Greek theater in the North Acropolis, there is a medieval castle. It was built in the thirteenth century as the family residence of a Mr. Norman on the top of Mount Barbaro. The building was distributed around a central courtyard and consisted of two levels.
