Castillo de Ortahisar - Ortahisar Kalesi

Dentro del recorrido del Valle Rojo de la Capadocia, entre Ürgup y Goreme encontramos el pueblo de Ortahisar, turísticamente no tiene mucho, sin embargo merece la pena acercarse a verlo solamente para visitar el castillo en ruinas que se encuentra en una colina. Ortahisar significa 'castillo mediano' y es precisamente lo más representativo de este lugar. Con 90 metros de altura esta formación creada a partir de cuevas excavadas y recorridos ocultos han llegado a ser un hito representativo de esta zona ya que es visible desde varios punto de la capadocia. Ha sido restaurando en los últimos años y es accesible, la visita es impresionante, no apta para personas con vértigo ya que las escaleras son estrechas y muy, muy altas. Por un euto (3 liras) se puede hacer la visitar interna hasta la mitad del castillo., desde aquí tenemos unas buenas vistas de toda la zona.
