María Pérez Revuelta
Casa Rafa Restaurant
This restaurant has three great things: the absence of a menu, the quality of the ingredients and the speed of service. The first surprise when you sit at the table is that the owner does not give you a menu, but tells you the possible courses ie: "good clams", "good octopus", ... and really everything is very, very good. The intangibility of the menu may cause some uncertainty as to what the price will be, but it cost us around 30 € per person with dessert and wine. We ordered the clams and octopus for starters. The clams came in a generous portion served with mussels and cockles, steamed whole and delicious.
The Galician octopus is also highly recommended. For the main course, we had lamb chops and oxtail stew, which we liked a lot, garnished with homemade chips. The desserts were cheesecake with berries and flan, both homemade and delicious. The wine was a Bierzo Mencia. It was a Saturday and the dining room was full, so booking is advisable. A special mention should go to the waiters, ve were excellent. I would go back, we have been wanting to try their potatoes, shrimp with bacon and fish. The value for money is very very good.
