Casa Palacio Casa De Carmona

A charming hotel belonging to the Relais & Chateaux chain, which clearly indicates its five star category.

It occupies the Lasso palatial residence, a building with a quadrangular plan of Andalusian origin, remodelled in the sixteenth century to house the Lasso family. Located in one of the quietest areas of Carmona, a neighbourhood of Muslim ancestry, full of mansions with a Moorish feel. It is why I usually park in front of the hotel in the small square, with its lack of indoor garage being the only weak point of this wonderful hotel.

Its facade follows the local scheme of late baroque style. The decoration concentrated at the entrance, with an inferior body of lintel and framed by flat pilasters and a superior body composed of a continuous balcony under pediment.

I won't tell you why, but I will say that I stayed at Casa de Carmona in a very special occasion. Very special. Romantic to the outmost. I already knew it was good, small, and unsurpassed Casa de Madrid Hotel, whose owner, Marta Medina, has also been commissioned to turn this sixteenth century palace house into a hotel. Knowing this, and adding its location in Carmona, so beautiful and so close to Sevilla, I chosed to stay there. It happened that I could not resist to walk around CasaCarmona again and again. It is amazing the ability of this great lady to create such exquisite and elegant spaces, sometimes eclectic yet perfectly harmonious.
