Casa de Cultura Larangeiras

Com mais de quinhentos séculos de história, a região de Angra dos Reis é um daqueles destinos turísticos que sempre terá algo para se descobrir. Os primeiros europeus a chegar a região ficaram encantados, dada a diversidade local e as sociedades que aqui habitavam. A cultura caiçara encorpou com a chegada sucessiva de outros grupos, como os africanos e hordas de aventureiros com a abertura do caminho do ouro. Destas ocupações e migrações ficou a cultura e alguns monumentos histórico espalhados pelos recantos do município, como a Casa Larangeiras. Este sobrado que está localizado no Largo do Mercado (mais precisamente na Praça Zumbi dos Palmares), iniciou sua trajetória no ano da independência do Brasil, em 1822, quando foi construído para ser um armazém. Este prédio pertencia a família Larangeiras, que tinham negócios na região e construíram o prédio para ser uma das maiores lojas da época. Após a morte dos herdeiros, o lugar ficou abandonado, até quando foi revitalizado no início do século XXI, se tornando um dos maiores centros culturais de Angra. Além de exposições de artistas locais, na Casa Larangeiras, o visitante pode adquirir artesanato com a marca da cultua caiçara.

With more than five hundred centuries of history, the region of Angra dos Reis is one of those tourist destinations that will always have something to discover. The first Europeans to reach the region were delighted, given the local diversity and the societies that inhabited it. The Caiçara culture was in tandem with the successive arrival of other groups, such as Africans and hordes of adventurers with the opening of the path of gold. After the death of the heirs, the place was abandoned, until it was revitalized in the early 21st century, becoming one of the largest cultural centers in Angra.
