A surprise in Cascais
Casa das Histrias is the name of the museum dedicated to Paula Rego and her great love Victor Willing. It is at the top of Cascais, near some of the most beautiful beaches in the world - a unique, simple, beautiful building, perhaps a little out of place in the traditional area. Maybe that's why it's so interesting. You can spend hours going around the grounds, or sit and drink a strong coffee and savour the silence. The collection is not vast, but it is very interesting. Paula Rego is a successful artist, and has funded this splendid museum.
