Carlo Menta

This is a good place to eat if you’re in the Trastevere neighborhood. The prices are comparable with the rest of the neighborhood, but they don’t tack on any additional charges like a lot of places. As I mentioned, it’s a touristy place but that doesn't mean it’s not good. The menu offers the usual Roman fare of pasta and pizza along with some meat dishes like saltimbocca alla Romana, which is what I ordered. The outdoor terrace is very nice though sometimes you have to wait for a table. All in all, we liked it.

The Carlo Menta is a place I always frequent when I’m in Rome. It’s in the square of Trastevere and the atmosphere is great; there are always friendly people and musicians about. The service is a bit slow but it’s worth it since the food is stupendous. One tip: keep an eye on the wine as the prices tend to be a bit high.
