A striking statue
In 1958, American film producer Samuel Bronston came to Denia to shoot a movie. It was quite an event, lasting four months, and hundreds of residents participated as extras, dressed as soldiers, sailors or pirates. In 2008, to celebrate the 50th anniversary, the statue of Captain Jones, like a Playmobil model in bronze, two metres high, was inaugurated by the local artist Jose Luis Saldanya.
