Small chapel of 1727
This small chapel is at the confluence of the San Damaso Alameda, Avenida Alberto Sampaio and Largo do Brasil Republic. It was built in 1727 by the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Consolation and Holy Steps, with iconography that represents one of the Stations of the Cross. Throughout the city there were 7 chapels like this, but now there are only 5. Annexed to one side is the old monastery of the Countess Mumadona that has been converted into the Alberto Sampaio Museum.
